Capital Gazette staffers blame Pres. Trump for the gunman that shot up their office.
Back in February 2017, during a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference, Pres. Trump told the audience: “A few days ago I called the fake news the enemy of the people, and they are — they are the enemy of the people,” and the Capital Gazette staffers blamed those words for the attack last week.
How disappointing they are so blinded by their hatred of Trump they disregard the facts of why this long-time disgruntled stalker slew their colleagues, you do a disservice to their names.
Jarrod Ramos is no doubt a mass murderer, but the Capital Gazette isn’t really “victims.” They decided to play with gasoline and matches and got burned as a result.
On Sunday, staffers at the Capital Gazette published an op-ed remembering those lost when a gunman entered their newsroom.
They also thanked those who reached out with kindness after that horrific day.
However, they also pointed out that not everyone was so kind.
“Here’s what else we won’t forget: Death threats and emails from people we don’t know celebrating our loss, or the people who called for one of our reporters to get fired because she got angry and cursed on national television after witnessing her friends getting shot,” they wrote.
Then, in what appears to be a direct jab at President Donald Trump, the staffers stressed, “We won’t forget being called an enemy of the people. No, we won’t forget that. Because exposing evil, shining light on wrongs and fighting injustice is what we do.”
I hope Jarrod Ramos spends the rest of his life in prison, but Capital Gazette deserves blame for pushing him over the edge by writing a malicious article designed to ruin Mr. Ramos’s life in spite of knowing that Mr. Ramos was a distraught man. Let this incident serve as a lesson to the media to use discretion when writing such articles, so tragedies like this never repeat themselves.
The irony here, of course, is that they are becoming fake news by reporting a lie. Trump specifically called out CNN and MSNBC for being fake news. He never said the Free Press is the enemy of the people.
Bottom line — The Gazette had a problem with this guy long before Trump came along now they want to pass off the problem on Trump. Get real it’s no wonder the media is thought so low of.
What do you think of this newspaper trying to pass the buck off to Pres. Trump?
