Sen. Bernie Sanders is falling off the deep end, and he won’t admit it.
On Wednesday, Sen. Sanders visited George Washington University where he spoke to the students to make his case for democratic socialism. And as usual, he ripped into Pres. Trump calling him an oligarch whose financial empire was built on “racial discrimination.”
On Wednesday we learn that Sen. Elizabeth Warren had jumped over Bernie Sanders in a nationwide poll for second place for 2020 presidential hopefuls. The reason why I tell my listeners on my radio show that Bernie Sanders will never be president of the United States is because he is mean. He talks about wanting unity, but he continues to speak in hateful rhetoric, so even if he was to be elected, he could never work with the other side because he goes scorched earth.
During his speech, Sen. Sanders praised former President Franklin Roosevelt, calling him a democratic socialist, which is something I have never heard before but Sanders is trying to win votes and stay relevant.
Here are a few excerpts of Sanders’ speech:
Sanders: “Eighty years ago President Roosevelt helped create a government that made transformative progress in protecting the needs of working families. Today in the second decade of the 21st century we must take up the unfinished business of the New Deal and carry it to completion.”
Sanders: “Now we must take the next step forward and guarantee every man, woman, and child in our country basic economic rights. The right to quality health care; the right to as much education as one needs to succeed in our society. The right to a good job that pays a living wage. The right to affordable housing. The right to a secure retirement and the right to live in a clean environment.”
Sanders said without these rights, Americans cannot experience “true freedom.”
Sanders long-winded speech ran for about 45 minutes as he repeatedly referenced the “oligarchy” and “authoritarianism” taking place around the world associating Pres. Trump to Russia’s Vladimir Putin and China’s Pres. Xi Jinping.
Sanders: “Across the globe the movement toward oligarchy runs parallel to the growth of authoritarian regimes like Putin in Russia, Xi in China, Mohammed bin Salman in Saudi Arabia, Rodrigo Duterte in the Philippines, Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, and Viktor Orban in Hungary among others. These leaders, are “cracking down on human rights” of religious and racial minorities, immigrant, and the LGBT community.
Sanders: “In the United States we have our own version of this movement, which is being led by President Trump and many of his Republican allies who are attempting to divide our country and attack these very same communities”
And while Sen. Sanders disparaged those men, he defended Democratic socialism and compared it to corporate socialism, which he claims Pres. Trump supports.
Sanders: Corporate socialism, Sanders said, enables insurance companies, the fossil fuel industry, the pharmaceutical industry, Wall Street, the “prison” and “military complex,” and “giant agribusiness” to a create the laws governing Americans to a “significant degree.”
Sanders’ speech included his regular income inequality regular talking points and the struggle of poor people in America and around the globe but said that this could change through a “political revolution.” That’s his niche, revolution. This man knows nothing of starting a revolution while he has three houses, a couple of boats and a million dollar bank account. Bernie has become the person he loathes, and he won’t back down.
Sanders: “Millions of people get involved in the political process to reclaim our democracy by having the courage to take on the powerful corporate interests whose greed is destroying the social and economic fabric of our country. They are just one percent. When the 99 percent stand together we can transform society.”
Sanders: “These are my values and that is why I call myself a democratic socialist. At its core is a deep and abiding faith in the American people to peacefully and democratically enact the transformative change that will create shared prosperity, social equality, and true freedom for all.”
Bernie. You need to read history. FDR’s family was filthy rich, anti-Semitic, and racist. WWII was the only thing that got America out of the depression. In fact, in 1941, the economy was worse than when he was elected president. Lies, lies, and more lies. How do you sleep at night?
I wonder if Jesse Jackson knew Trump’s empire was built on racial discrimination when he praised Donald Trump for being a “friend” who embraced “the under-served communities?”
