Benghazi Talking Point Changes, It’s Not Political, It’s Criminal

All who know me understand there are few things which I am more passionate about than uncovering the truth behind what happened the night of the September 11, 2012 terrorists attacks in Benghazi, Libya taking the lives of Amb. Chris Stevens. Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.

Last week, former Deputy Director of the CIA, Mike Morell was recalled to testify about the numerous changes made to the Benghazi talking points memo. Although twelve revisions were made with input from the State Department and the Executive branch, Morell insists politics had nothing to do with it. Cue laugh track? Unfortunately no, he was not joking when he said:

I did not take out extremists, I took out the word Islamic in front of extremist and I took it out for two reasons. Most importantly I took out because we were dealing with protests and demonstrations across much of the Muslim world as a result of the video and the last thing I wanted to do was to was to do anything to further inflame those passions and so that’s why I took the word Islamic out. It was a risk judgment.

The second reason I took it out was-What other kind of extremists are there in Libya?

When questioned about the discrepancies between the story told by the Obama administration based on what analysts located in DC believed caused the attacks – the YouTube Video, and the information provided by the CIA chief of station located on the ground in Libya – the attacks were not an escalation of protests.  Morell said:

…based on a totality of the information available to them, they stuck with their initial conclusions

You truly cannot make this stuff up.

Below are links to stories written for those who would like additional detail on what occurred before, during and after the terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya, but for those who prefer the reader’s digest version, the video should suffice.
