America Magazine, a Catholic Jesuit news source, has renewed their calls for repealing the 2nd Amendment. Their editors wrote an article about it in 2013 and shared that same article again on Friday in the wake of the Oregon shooting.
We pray for those who died in the shooting yesterday in Oregon. http://t.co/mzqud6JA2q

Two things here disgust me.
- Their plan to want to take away the right to bear arms of law-abiding Americans.
- Call to repeal the 2nd Amendment in the name of religion and prayer.
Reading their headline seems to imply that in order to legitimately pray for the victims and show sympathy, you must ban all guns. And if you do not support this, then you apparently lack sympathy.
This tactic is nothing new. It has been repeatedly used in the past to place guilt on pro-gun supporters, in hopes of getting them to cave into more gun control legislation.
So here’s the reality: No gun control legislation would have stopped the Oregon shooting, but having armed guards and teachers could have. These gun-free zones at schools create a target for criminals, and it must end now.
