BEHNA: Trump Demands Investigation On Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi For Russian Ties

On Friday, President Trump went on Twitter to blast Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi for ties to Russia.

He fired back in response to Democrats slamming Jeff Sessions for talking to Russia’s ambassador twice last year.

Trump first tweeted a picture of Schumer and Putin together.

We should start an immediate investigation into and his ties to Russia and Putin. A total hypocrite!

Then Trump goes after Nancy Pelosi.

I hereby demand a second investigation, after Schumer, of Pelosi for her close ties to Russia, and lying about it.

He linked a Politico article that included a photo of Pelosi with Kislyak. She falsely claimed they never met.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Friday that she’s never met with the current Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak.

“Not with this Russian ambassador, no,” Pelosi told POLITICO’s Jake Sherman and Anna Palmer during a Playbook interview, when asked whether she had ever met with the Russian envoy.

But a file photo from Pelosi’s 2010 meeting with Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev shows Kislyak at the table across from Pelosi — then House speaker — and Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.).

Many other Democrats have met with Russia’s ambassador as well.

The Daily Caller and many other sources reported 30 of them meeting with Kislyak in 2015 to endorse the Iran deal.

On Thursday, Georgia Senator David Perdue mentioned this on the Senate floor.

“Thirty members, as a matter of fact, of this body met with the Russian Ambassador and ambassadors from other nations in 2015 for a sales pitch on President Obama’s deal with Iran. Many of them — including the senior senator from Missouri — were open supporters at that time of candidates in the presidential race,” he said.

Jeff Sessions did nothing wrong. He did not lie under oath. As Trump said on Thursday, this is a “witch hunt.”
