U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) told the Weekly Standard on Tuesday that he has no plan to block whoever President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee will be.
According to the Weekly Standard.
West Virginia senator Joe Manchin said he won’t block President Donald Trump’s choice to replace Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court, who is scheduled to be announced Tuesday evening.
“I’m not going to filibuster anybody,” Manchin told THE WEEKLY STANDARD as he was heading into a luncheon Tuesday surrounded by reporters.
There aren’t many other Democrats willing to give the nominee a fair hearing. Most of Manchin’s colleagues are already planning to block whoever it is.
Trump plans to announce his nominee Tuesday night at 8 PM ET.
