Attorney General William Barr responded to critics, mainly Rep. Nancy Pelosi, who accused him of lying under oath and acting in contempt of Congress during his testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee a couple of weeks ago.
Fox News’ Bill Hemmer asked Barr his thoughts on Pelosi accusing him of lying to the Senate Judiciary Committee earlier in the month. Pelosi tried to save face in front of the American people by claiming Barr gave false testimony when he said special counsel Robert Mueller didn’t have any objections to his memo on the special counsel’s report, even though a letter from Mueller’s team to Barr suggests otherwise.
“I think it’s a laughable charge. I think it’s largely being made to try to discredit me partly because they may be concerned about the outcome of a review of what happened during the election. But obviously, you can look at the face of my testimony and see on its face there is nothing inaccurate about it.”
