On Tuesday night, 300 illegal migrants were detained by the United Constitutional Patriots, an armed civilian group patrolling the U.S.-Mexico border in the Sunland Park area.
These guys have been around since the Bush administration and have every right to make citizens arrests, in fact they have a duty. I don’t see where they hurt anyone, just stopped them long enough for the border patrol to get there. I applaud them and would join them if I didn’t need to pay my mortgage.
It seems to me without their help, 300 illegals would have gotten through. There were no Border Patrol officers on the scene when they were first detained. If they didn’t need help, this group would have caught no one. So, maybe they should just “spot and report” rather than detain? Funny, when civilians report bank robberies or stop a hold up at a 7-11 they seem to welcome the help. How many crimes are solved without help from the public?
The thing nobody mentions is that if Congress had upheld their end of the 1988 comprehensive immigration reform bill which gave millions amnesty, this wouldn’t be necessary. Our immigration system is not broken; our laws are unenforced. There’s always a tip in most cases from the public.
For the ACLU to claim they want this group investigated, it’s a travesty!
The group, who claim they are at the border to “uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America,” is patrolling the desert near Sunland Park searching for migrants.
In a video livestreamed April 16 on Facebook by one of the United Constitutional Patriots’ members, the group is seen detaining a group of about 300 migrants, including children. The video starts in the middle of the incident with U.S. Border Patrol vehicle and agents already at the scene.
In the video, the member repeatedly says, “This is an invasion … and it is never, never ending” referring to the large number of Central American migrants crossing into the U.S. to seek asylum.
The group claims on its website that it is not violating any state or federal laws.

At this point, the ACLU should drop the American part from their acronym. It is against American civil liberties to protect non-Americans from laws already on the books, which shows a clear path to the right way of becoming a bonafide legal citizen.
I think that every one of these groups needs to read the Constitution of the United States of America, It is the right and duty of each and every American to stop the laws of our nation from being broken by anyone who violates those laws. It is called Citizens Arrest which is precisely what these men have done. No liberal press or group and make a claim against the rights extended under the Constitution.
Doing a patriotic duty that the government cannot, or is not willing to do, seems the right thing. 300 in one group? It just shows the porous state of our border and those whose sympathies lie with the invasion, encouraging those who choose to avoid the legal entry, are misplaced.
It’s even in the Constitution in the first two phrases of the Second Amendment: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
What would the Democrats think and do if large caravans of armed American’s started to head to each of the border states, I would imagine it would get their attention!
