AOC Says Proposed Congressional Raise Of $4,500 — ‘Not Even Like a Raise’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has hit elitist status.

On Monday, AOC told an interviewer that a proposed raise of $4,500 for Congress members might not be ‘politically popular,” she is all in for getting additional pay.

Remember, the House Democrats haven’t done any work other than press on with allegations and accusations, but nothing in the way of taking care of the American people and they want more money? Go figure.

House Dems Haven’t Done ANYTHING All Year, And Now They Want A Raise

AOC claims the proposed increase is ‘not even like a raise.’ I guess based on her salary of a measly $174,000, that isn’t enough for these part-time politicians. I don’t know of any other job is part-time or less than part-time that pays you six figures, do you?

AOC: “You can vote against a cost of living adjustment all you want and it’ll look good on its surface but that is voting to exploit legal loopholes to make ends meet, but members of Congress are only allowed to make an additional 15% of their base salary from “outside earned income.” This amounts to $28,440.

“We should be fighting for a $15 min wage pegged to inflation so that everyone with a salary gets a cost of living analysis. Everyone should get cost of living increases to accommodate for the changes in our economy.”

Congress members haven’t had a pay raise since 2009 an not one American has complained about it. I say, give them at $15.00/hr wage. If they can’t do the business of making this country better, then they shouldn’t get a raise, and many people will support my thinking.

U.S. Census Bureau reports the median U.S. household income was $61,372 in 2017. Ocasio-Cortez makes $114,628 more than the average household in America.

How much would she be making if we paid Congress based on how much they get done?
