AOC Says Birth Control Should Be Over The Counter And FREE — Like In The UK

On Friday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) decided to use her Twitter timeline to call for women’s birth control for women to be free and available without a prescription.

She tweeted, “Psst! 🗣 Birth control should be over-the-counter, pass it on,” AOC tweeted out.

This isn’t the first time AOC has talked about access to women’s contraceptives.

Last month, AOC posted a video of Rep Lauren Underwood speaking at a Congressional hearing on women’s reproductive healthcare.

Underwood: “For women, reproductive health care is health care, but your department has issued rules that deny the science of reproductive health care and allow employers to deny workers health insurance that covers contraceptives.

“Despite the fact that courts have repeatedly blocked these rules, you and this administration are continuing your efforts to deny women contraceptive coverage.”

When AOC tweeted the video on her timeline, she blamed the Trump administration’s “mediocrity,” on the subject.

Ocasio-Cortez: The mediocrity is astounding. How would these guys like it if Gov was 80% female, constantly looking for ways to limit or outlaw condoms + vasectomies, yet had little/no medical context? Sounds crazy? The flipside is what women & LGBTQ+ people have to deal w/ ALL the time.

You’d think the one thing in this country we all could agree upon is that to hold power, you actually have to know the correct definitions of simple words. Words like free. Unfortunately, Karen Marx wears her stupidity like a badge of honor.
