Over the past few years we’ve seen a lot of polls that indicate the American publics dislike of the fake news media.
But have you noticed, when you read one of those polls, you always think to yourself, ‘that number should be higher’?
Well, apparently, you were right…
This latest poll may be the first one that’s accurate when it comes to how Americans truly feel about the fake news media.
Nearly all Americans are “troubled” by the state of the media, according to a new study from boutique PR agency, Bospar, in collaboration with Propeller Insights.
The survey of 1,010 American adults found that more than 95% are troubled by the current state of media, with 53% citing “reports on fake news,” 49% citing “reporting gossip,” and 48% citing “lying spokespeople,” as the key causes.
Other factors ranging from “celebrity opinions” to left- and right-wing agendas to the possible reporting of “blind items” in the news also spark concern. [The Wrap]
95 percent of Americans is literally “ALL” Americans. Maybe there’s 3 people left who that think our media is great “as is.” Maybe.
Of the respondents, 67% believe ethics in journalism will be worse during the 2020 presidential campaign, while 40% of those surveyed considered local print and online journalists as the most ethical and 23% considered local TV reporters and anchors most ethical. National print and online journalists are considered the most trustworthy by 22%, while only 15% said national TV anchors and reporters were the most ethical. [The Wrap]
It’s no secret that we have one of the worst, most partisan and politicized medias on the face of the planet. Back in 2018, a study was conducted that found 92 percent of mainstream media coverage is negative against President Trump. How is that even possible, you might ask?
It’s called Trump Derangement Syndrome, and it’s sweeping the media.
Anti-Trump Media: To say that the big networks haven’t exactly had a love affair with Donald Trump, as they plainly did with President Obama, is an understatement. A new survey shows that not only is coverage of Trump overwhelmingly negative, but the president’s biggest accomplishment — the roaring economy — gets almost no attention.
For its report, the Media Research Center did a lot of visual spadework. It viewed some 1,007 evening news stories about the Trump White House on ABC, CBS and NBC from June 1 to Sept. 30. That’s the equivalent of about 32.7 hours of coverage, by TV standards an eternity of news time.
What they found was, as Trump himself might say, sad: “Over the summer, the broadcast networks have continued to pound Donald Trump and his team with the most hostile coverage of a president in TV news history — 92% negative, vs. just 8% positive.”
Moreover, the very focus of what the media cover is highly selective. Some two-thirds of the Trump coverage came from five topics, including the Russia investigation, immigration, the Brett Kavanaugh nomination, North Korea, and U.S.-Russia relations. [Investors.com]
With absurdly lopsided, propaganda-type numbers like this how can anyone expect Americans to trust the media?
It’s gotten so bad, that I wouldn’t trust CNN if they told me the sky was blue.
Remember that guy ‘Baghdad Bob,” the hilarious “Information Minister” in Iraq who lied about everything?
Well, that guy looks “legit” compared to our mainstream media.
