The number of days until we reach the one year anniversary of the terrorist attack on a U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya and we are no closer to finding the truth about what really occurred.
The most transparent administration has been anything but with respect to the Benghazi investigation and has recently begun referring to the attack as a phony scandal in the hopes it will simply go away.
For those unaware, a U.S. Ambassador has not been killed in an attack of this nature in over 30 years. The most recent prior to the murder of Ambassador Christopher Stevens was during the Carter Administration when Ambassador Adolph Dubs was killed in 1979 by Islamic extremest during a kidnapping attempt, however, unlike President Obama, the Carter administration identified the event as exactly what it was a – “Significant Terrorist Incident.”
An Ambassador is a country’s Representative, and the premise they occupy is considered sovereign. An attack such as the one that occurrred on the 11th anniversiry of September 11th, could be designated as an act of war. Read more…
The day after the Benghazi attack, a journalist for the UK telegraph wrote,
When the British embassy in Tehran was attacked last November, the mob ransacked and pillaged, but refrained from physically harming any personnel. Nonetheless, London responded by expelling every Iranian diplomat and downgrading bilateral ties to the lowest possible level. Given that America’s most senior representative in Libya appears to have been killed – with some reports suggesting that three other staff also died – Mr Obama’s response will have to be far tougher.” Read more…
Obama’s response, he gave a speech in the Rose Garden where he says he referred to the attack as terrorism and then hopped a flight to Vegas for a fund raiser. He said he instructed his staff to find those responsible and bring them to justice and yet we have not arrested those the U.S. believes are responsible for the attack. In the meantime, CNN was able to interview one of the suspects who says he’s never been contacted by the FBI.
In addition, we do not know the answers to the most basic of questions:
- What was Stevens doing in such a hostile area on the 11th anniversary of 9/11?
- Where was the President on the night of the attack, he was informed Ambassador Stevens was missing at 5:30 p.m. and never checked in again?
- Why haven’t we interviewed the suspects we’ve been tracking and believe to be responsible for the attack?
- Why did the Obama administration lie and blame a video?
- Who came up with this narrative that is proven as absolutely false?
- Why were over 30 CIA operatives in Benghazi?
- Where are the survivors?
As frustrated as ‘We the People’ are with the lack of progress in the Benghazi investigation and lack of cooperation from the Obama administration, I can only imagine how difficult it is for the family members of Stevens, Smith, Woods & Doherty as they approach this anniversary.
Rep. Frank Wolf (VA) is attempting to move the investigation forward with House Resolution 36 which would form a select committee to investigate the Benghazi terrorist attack. The committee is the same type used to investigate Watergate allowing for a more efficient manner of gathering answers rather than having several committees within the House and Senate piecing answers together.
Unfortunately several members, including those in leadership positions such as Boehner, Cantor and Paul have not signed on in support oft the bill, but a group of concerned citizens has created an avenue where ‘We the People’ can voice our concerns about Benghazi.
The website JusticeForBenghazi4.com includes a list of GOP members who have not signed on to support Rep. Wolf’s House Resolution 36 along with the representative’s phone number, Facebook and Twitter account information. If you are active on Twitter, you can Tweet your member directly from the site by clicking on the Tweet button Twice. The site is simple and allows concerned citizens an avenue to ACT, and I encourage you to visit the site and share it with your circles.
In addition to the JusticeForBenghazi4.com website, the group holds a ‘Bengfhazi TweetFest’ each Tuesday and Friday night beginning at 9 pm EST. Their goal, to trend the #Benghazi hashtag and keep the story relevant.
President Obama believes if he continies to repeat the words “phony scandal” that #Benghazi will eventually go away but thanks to people like Rep. Frank Wolf (VA) and groups like @StrikeForce911, ‘We The People’ have the opportunity to show the president that we will never forget Stevens, Smith, Woods & Doherty.
