Thirty-three parents paid enormous sums to cheat the system and have their children skip past the legal way to get into college, not on their merits but through fraud.
William Rick Singer is the mastermind behind the Key Worldwide Foundation which took in nearly 25 million dollars between 2011-2018. Singer’s organization worked with colleges such as Yale, Georgetown, Stanford, UCLA, Texas, and USC.
BREAKING: Authorities say actresses Lori Loughlin, Felicity Huffman among those charged in college admissions scheme.

When I think of the kids who genuinely work their proverbial tails off to succeed in school to have an opportunity to get into a college, any college and are skunked out of seats on both ends of the spectrum, by both the elites who buy their precious brats’ ways in and by those who are either bordering on illiterate or who have no interest in working for it but are told that everyone should go to college (and we, the taxpayer PAY for them) it makes me furious.
The truly despicable part of this story is all the students and athletes that didn’t get accepted because these cheaters paid for the spot. Oh, by the way, Sasha and Malia Obama’s tennis instructor and the former Yale women’s soccer coach are among those indicted in sprawling college bribery scheme! Is that how Malia got into Harvard?
The Boston US Attorney’s Office said that in most cases, parents that had arranged for the cheating did not implicate their children.
The Hollywood actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin were among 50 people charged in connection with a college-admissions scheme uncovered by the FBI, according to court documents unsealed in Boston on Tuesday.
Thirty-three parents are accused of paying William Rick Singer, the owner of the Edge College & Career Network, a total of $25 million from 2011 to 2019 to boost their children’s chances of getting into elite universities. The US Attorney’s Office in Boston said the parents each paid $200,000 to $6.5 million to guarantee the admissions.
A criminal complaint alleges that Loughlin and her husband “agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC.”
The complaint included an email from Loughlin to Singer that said her younger daughter, Olivia, was confused about how to fill out her college application after being recruited as a rower. The document said Singer’s company submitted it for her. [excerpt via thisisinsider]
Isn’t it amazing that the Hollywood elites want to tell you who to vote for, how you should live your life, that having a border wall is immoral and that it is okay to violate Federal law and protect illegals who broke the law entering our country illegally and who commit crimes in our country?
My disdain for most of the rich has no political ideology attached: Hollywood rich, corporate rich, another profession, rich, all the same to me. I guess laws and standards don’t apply to them because they are rich.
I do not thing the Universities can claim innocence. They take donations and do not reject money for services like naming a building after someone plus accept soft money for grants for research. They need money and this fit into their system.

The cold hard fact is that if you have money or power, you can do whatever you want. Laws are for poor people, and the law discriminates. My favorite example is when Democrat elitists spout off about assault weapons. Did you know you can legally own an automatic machine gun, it will just cost you $30,000-plus?
So although Democrats are completely anti-gun, if you’re rich or in government you can have a machine gun, because liberals want dependent serfs.
If these people are found guilty of the charges, I hope they spend a good number of years of a hard time in prison. I hope investigators will delve into the children and their knowledge of the scam. I can’t believe that the kids were “innocent victims.” If the children knew what was going on and participated in the scam, they should get the same sentence as the parents.
The judicial system has to send a message to all that “if you do the crime, you’ll do time.”
