The Tiger Woods car crash is a mystery.
So many strange happenings surrounding this case – and it just keeps getting weirder.
Officials now say that know everything.
They claim that they have the “official reason” for Tiger’s crash, thanks to obtaining his car’s “black box.”
However, they are keeping the details of the crash a secret, claiming that they need Tiger’s permission to release the information.
We still don’t know the details about what occurred on the morning of Feb. 23. And detectives will keep the truth a secret due to unspecified privacy concerns for the 15-time champion.
Sheriff Alex Villanueva said investigators need permission from Woods to release information about the crash, per ESPN. The sheriff’s department later released a statement on Twitter citing they must follow “California Vehicle Code Section 20012” when dealing with the release of accident reports.
Woods reportedly told deputies he did not know how the crash occurred.
He also said he didn’t even remember driving.
Although investigators did not seek a search warrant to obtain blood samples from Woods, they did obtain one for the data recorder (commonly known as a black box) in his vehicle.
“We have all the contents of the black box; we’ve got everything,” Villanueva said. “It’s completed, signed, sealed, and delivered. However, we can’t release it without the permission of the people involved in the collision.”
Here’s what we know…there were no skid marks at the crime scene and Tiger did not take his foot off the gas to apply the brakes.
We also know that experts suggested that Tiger fell asleep at the wheel, or that there was some other “distracted driving” that occurred.
Sports columnist Mitch Albom has a theory about what’s really going on with Tiger’s case.
He thinks Tiger is getting “special treatment.”
He said that if it were you or me, those results would be released with or without our say-so.
Albom also thinks that because there were no other victims or property damage, and Tiger was the only person that Tiger hurt, the authorities don’t want to “pile on.”

As of this time, Tiger’s people have not responded to the request to make the information public, but they do have the police report and all the information in hand.
