Prince William and Prince Harry were reunited over the weekend when they attended the funeral of their grandfather Prince Philip, who died earlier this month at the age of 99. Now, sources are saying that the brothers spoke for hours after the funeral, sparking hopes from around the globe that they may be healing their rift.
Meghan can’t be happy about this – after all, she’s worked her tail off to create chaos and division within this family – and now the one time she stays home, people start to heal.
What a blow to Meghan. She’ll have to up her game.
Sources told The Sun that after the funeral, William and Harry spoke with their father Prince Charles for two hours at Windsor Castle. The talks reportedly went so well that Harry may stay for Queen Elizabeth’s 95th birthday, which is coming up on Wednesday.
Harry has also confirmed that he will be coming back to the United Kingdom this summer for the unveiling of a memorial statue of his late mother Princess Diana at Windsor Castle. Royal insiders are hoping that this ceremony will bring Harry and William even closer.
“It’s early days but you’d hope this is exactly the first step Philip would have wished for,” a source said.
This comes just one month after Harry and his wife Meghan Markle gave an explosive tell-all interview to Oprah Winfrey. During this interview, they claimed to have faced racism from within the royal family, and Harry alleged that his father and brother feel “trapped” by royal life.
“It is not known what was said behind closed doors and when the cameras were turned off, but it’s unfathomable to think Megxit and Oprah did not come up,” the source said. “Harry and William appeared cordial as the cameras rolled and that seemed to pave the way for Charles to join them when everyone had left.”
Royal biographer Penny Junor gave further details about the talk that William, Harry, and Charles had.
“This was minutes after the funeral and they were all grieving in their own ways,” she said. “There might have been some greetings. And even that is a positive start.
“There is a lot to be unraveled here. This is a falling-out that has gone on for a long time. They need the time, space, and the trust,” Junor added. “Harry should stay for the Queen’s birthday as it is the least he can do for his grandmother and it gives him even more opportunity to talk to his father and his brother.”
