The mask debate continues to rage on, with Americans firmly taking sides on the issue.

While a lot of people have reluctantly succumbed to wearing masks in very crowded situations, or in stores that require them, they’re not okay with wearing them outside or in situations where they’re not around a lot of people.

However, pro-mask people love wearing masks and will even wear them while they’re driving around alone in their cars.

It’s gotten so silly, that Joe Biden went on a bike ride the other day with a mask on.

But all this mask-wearing may be causing some medical issues.

Now, Dentists are saying that they’re seeing a wild increase in gum disease from people who are wearing masks for a prolonged time – and they’ve called it “mask mouth.”

From Bizpacreview

As if the debate over face mask-wearing amid COVID-19 isn’t contentious enough in some quarters, a dental practice is warning that keeping your mouth covered all or most of the time could allegedly lead to harmful hygiene issues such as gum recession (i.e., periodontal disease) and bad breath.

A Manhattan dentist calls this potential side effect “mask mouth” as a play on “meth mouth” that colloquially refers to the decay of teeth and gums among drug addicts.

Explaining the phenomenon, the dentist, Dr. Rob Ramondi told the New York Post that “We’re seeing inflammation in people’s gums that have been healthy forever, and cavities in people who have never had them before. About 50% of our patients are being impacted by this, [so] we decided to name it ‘mask mouth’ — after ‘meth mouth.’”

Ramondi’s colleague Dr. Marc Sclafani, explained that “People tend to breathe through their mouth instead of through their nose while wearing a mask. The mouth breathing is causing the dry mouth, which leads to a decrease in saliva — and saliva is what fights the bacteria and cleanses your teeth…saliva is also what neutralizes acid in the mouth and helps prevent tooth decay and gum disease.”

Whatever your feelings are about masks, I think we can all agree, that yet again, liberals have taken something and used it as a power-grab and a way to gain control over people and shame them for not wearing masks.

But you can’t blame people for having questions about the masks. Many of the boxes have a disclaimer on them that they don’t stop any viruses.

And just a few months ago Dr. Fauci himself suggested wearing masks was like a “security blanket” for nervous nellies.

There has been a lot of very confusing info and misinformation and even flip-flopping regarding this “pandemic,” so it’s understandable that people are confused and questioning the so-called “experts” on this issue and many others when it comes to COVID.
