What the heck was KFC thinking when they printed this racist and offensive “woke” ad?

I saw it and was horrified, I showed it to my daughter and she said, “That’s not real….”

Oh, no, it’s very much real.

The chicken giant is facing a lot of backlash for this unbelievably tone-deaf ad that had to be created by David Duke. Is he doing marketing for KFC now?

It’s an “Emancipation ad” that has a picture of a fried chicken leg standing straight up and casting a “black power fist” shadow on the wall.

Just unreal.

After tremendous backlash, KFC removed the ad and apologized.

Here’s what they said:

“Our intention was to support and recognise the importance of this historically significant event. We recognise that our posts commemorating Emancipation Day drew some negative response. Clearly we got it wrong, and we want to unreservedly apologise for the offence caused.”

Obviously that was written by some “woke” liberal who isn’t located in America because we don’t spell “recognize” or “apologize” or “offense” that way.

This ad actually came from Trinidad KFC HQ. Emancipation Day is a public holiday in Caribbean countries that celebrates the end of slavery in the British empire, according to Office Holidays. The holiday celebrates events that took place on Aug. 1, 1835, but some Caribbean countries celebrate the day on different days.

Somebody is Trinidad is getting fired.

Here are some of the comments about the ad:

This first one below is from a “parody” account.

“What better way to commemorate the emancipation of slaves than by pointing out that the Black Power symbol resembles a fried chicken drumstick? Thank you KFC Trinidad for this powerful gesture of solidarity”

“even a stormfront user could not conceive of a parody more racist than a piece of fried chicken offering the black power salute.”

“No justice, no 8-piece with two sides”
