Yesterday, we reported that an investigation had been launched into claims of toxic behavior behind the scenes on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Now, it’s being reported that Ellen DeGeneres herself has been abandoned by the A-list stars who she has been friends with for years after months of reports of her alleged rude behavior coming out.

“Ellen has gained a reputation as a friend to the stars, but A-listers would have to take great risks to publicly defend the show,” one source told The Sun. “The explosion of the #MeToo movement has really shone a light on workplace conduct in Hollywood. Studios are under pressure to change the culture.”

DeGeneres has long been known for being close to some of the most famous people in Hollywood, with her personal friends including Jennifer Aniston, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Oprah Winfrey. She was also front and center of that legendary “Oscars selfie” with Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts and Bradley Cooper when she hosted the awards show back in 2014.

Many fans take that selfie differently now, however, after bodyguard Tom Majercak came forward to claim that DeGeneres was “demeaning” to him during the ceremony.

“Ellen is the one person that I’ve been assigned to — and I’ve been assigned to quite a few celebrities — that has never taken the time to say hi to me,” Majercak said earlier this year. He added that while her wife Portia de Rossi was very nice to him, the whole mood shifted when he met DeGeneres, who he’d been hired to protect during and after the ceremony.

“It started going negatively when she introduced me to Ellen and Ellen pretty much just gave me a side glance out of her eye and didn’t even say ‘hello,’ or ‘thank you for protecting my mother, my wife and me,'” Majercak continued. “It was very cold and it was very sly and it was actually kind of demeaning in the way that she treats people other than those who are in her circle.”

The investigation into DeGeneres’ show was launched after a BuzzFeed News report came out in which ten former staffers on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” as well as one current employee claimed that there was a culture of racism and intimidation on the show. While they admitted that much of the blame for this lies with the executive producers, they also urged DeGeneres to “take more responsibility” for the workplace environment.

“If she wants to have her own show and have her name on the show title, she needs to be more involved to see what’s going on,” one said. “I think the executive producers surround her and tell her, ‘Things are going great, everybody’s happy,’ and she just believes that, but it’s her responsibility to go beyond that.”

DeGeneres’ brand has taken a serious beating for this, given the fact that she ends every episode of her show by urging her audience to “be kind” to one another.

“That ‘be kind’ bulls*** only happens when the cameras are on,” one former employee said. “It’s all for show.”
