On Monday, police and protesters enjoyed a come-together moment during a time when nationwide protests of police brutality towards people of color have increased over the last week sparked by the murder of George Floyd a week ago.
Protesters in Fort Worth, Texas, told police officers they would go home if the officers would take a knee to signal they were on one accord with police brutality to black Americans. The police did.
And after the police took a knee in solidarity, tensions lifted, protesters and cops exchanged handshakes and hugs. A video clip from that stunning moment can be seen below:
Protesters just told police on bullhorn if officers took a knee they would go home. Officers took a knee. Protesters came up to cops and shook their hands, hugged them. Remarkable. pic.twitter.com/WcymGYiUPC

Gordon and Chris Blake of NBC 5 Dallas Forth Worth filed a report that explained the stunning interaction:
Police pulled up in a pickup with a loudspeaker and ordered demonstrators to leave because of the curfew.
Protesters pulled out a bullhorn of their own and yelled back, telling officers they had no intention of going home.
As more officers moved in and the situation grew more tense, protesters offered to leave if officers would get on their knees with them.
“Just take a knee,” the protesters shouted.
Remarkably, a number of officers on bicycles in front did just that.
In an instant, the tension gave way to handshakes and hugs between officers and protesters.
About that time, possibly believing the officers in front were in danger, a number of tactical officers ran up and the crowd scattered.
The media can continue peddling the false narrative that it’s mostly peaceful protests, but those who live near-riots know better.
