A few days ago a Seattle-area cop posted a brief YouTube video in which he genuinely implored his fellow police officers to do the right thing by embracing the incredible principles set forth in our U.S. Constitution. LifeZette published a piece in which the aforementioned video was included. That video has since been deleted by the uploader. Whether this integrity-bound oath-keeper removed the video or YouTube decided to smother the message based on its typical censorship applications (your guess as to why is probably correct) is not exactly clear.

Yet here is the original video which initially drew praise but then somehow set off this lawman’s police command staff:

Pretty soul-stirring testimony, don’t you think? Whether we are enduring a pandemic or not, his words ring loud, clear, and true. The storyline here is intriguing with perhaps some bittersweet threads to it.

Greg Anderson, the policeman who uploaded the approximately nine-minute video espousing upholding constitutional rights, was initially praised by his “commander.” Then a mere three hours later, he was informed by that same police commander that the video must come down from the social media sphere. After considering the purported reprimand for not deleting his pro-Constitution video, the essence of his message was defined when his police commander called back with an Or else! ultimatum if he refused to obey admonitions. The police chief barked.

Facing imminent potential termination of his police career and the sustenance he derives to support his homestead and three daughters, he held firm and explained his situation amounted to nothing shy of being ordered to compromise his principles. That is the exact message he emphasized to other cops in the video. The irony is inescapable. Watch and listen to his genuinely articulated convictions:

At the conclusion of the Instagram video you just watched, the message seemed that he was ready to fight for his rights and constitutional convictions while astutely cognizant of the fact that he was staring at the wagging finger one may define as oppression. Nonetheless, he is resolute in his yet-to-be-determined destiny. Moreover, he is self-assured that his destiny is in his hands and no others.

This draws the ire of constitutionalists who uphold First Amendment rights to speak freely, as well it should. However, having been in a policy-driven entity such as a law enforcement agency, the police command staff likely took exception to his recording in a police cruiser (owned by the city) while donned in police attire (provided by the city) and surrounded by technology (owned by the police department) while possibly during on-duty time (strict policies ordinarily forbidding such circumstances). Notwithstanding “policy violations” which have their merit, none of these comes even remotely close to squashing U.S. citizen’s right to speak freely about the very Constitution which affords that right among other equally imperative principles conferred upon American citizens—including cops.

His viral video blazed trails and chronicled numbers from around the globe—one of the optimized features of a social media conduit. At this point, it seems as if Officer Anderson is at the very least administratively suspended or at the extreme worst about to be terminated. Regardless of his present status, this military veteran and courageous constitutionalist have his moral compass, and it is not broken.

Given all this uncertainty and ostensible government oppression, a family friend had the wherewithal to set up and launch a GoFundMe page on behalf of Officer Anderson and his loved ones. With an initial threshold set at $50,000, at this writing, the donations exceed $259,000.

In part, the GoFundMe inscription reads as follows: “His department the Port of Seattle Police is in the process of termination as the video was deemed a violation of policy.  I am attempting to raise funds for them as they are going to seek legal representation and to help cover any costs that the unforeseen future brings during this drastic change in their lives.”

What are your thoughts on this? Do you stand with this policeman?
