Joe Macias, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico man is facing charges after local officials claim he became so angry he didn’t qualify for a COVID-19 (coronavirus) related stimulus check and tried to set his wife on fire.

Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department found Macias walking down the street, in gasoline clothes soaked. Officers also found the victim, his wife, on the floor inside a nearby trailer with her hair and pajamas soaked in gasoline.

The victim told police she was attacked around 5 p.m when Macias came home with a four-pack of beer, and she could “tell he had been drinking.” After he finished the four-pack, her husband wanted to buy more beer and asked his wife for the car keys. She refused, which resulted in a lot of profanity and a promise that “You’re going to pay the consequences,” and then slammed the door, leaving the trailer on foot.

According to police, the 63-year-old Macias threw gas on his wife and their mobile home.

Is that how bad it has gotten? A lot of Americans are finding out they won’t be receiving their stimulus checks, but that doesn’t give you the right to threaten and abuse your spouse.

Times are hard for a lot of people, but remember, things will get better, and it’s so fulfilling when you are riding the wave upward without attempted murder charges.
