Even though Utah Sen. Mitt Romney was elected senator of a conservative state, and therefore was expected to reflect the will of his constituents, his desire to be President outweighs his ability to represent Utah.

That analysis is probably the reason why Republicans state senator Tim Quinn wants the ability to recall lawmakers from elected to Congress by offering up a bill for the measure.

Down deep, Romney knows that if he can help get Trump impeached, American Republicans will come to him and urge him to step in and run for President for the “good of the party.” You can see it in his face every time he has an opportunity to block something Trump wants.

Mitt….sorry to tell you…no one, ever, is going to ask you to step in and run for President. You had two shots…people don’t like you. Get over it and represent Utah and focus on what is suitable for the American people…not what’s good for your ambitions.

Quinn told Deseret News that the bill would help make senators, who serve for six-year terms, “a little more accountable to those who elected him or her.”

“Six years is a long time,” he said.

It is unlikely Quinn’s bill will pass. That is because it is against the Constitution to recall any federally elected official. According to Ballotpedia, the framers of the Constitution considered the option while drafting the document in 1787, but it was left out of the final version.

The issue has been contested on the state level, but it has yet to make it to the Supreme Court. A recent example was in 2010, where Supreme Courts of New Jersey and North Dakota ruled against federal recall according to Ballotpedia.

Quinn’s bill comes as senators prepare to vote on whether to call for witnesses at President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial. U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney, of Utah, has received much criticism from fellow Republicans over his support for witnesses. [Miami Herald]

Mitt wanted to model us after China. He held a press conference at a Chinese factory once. He commented on the fences “These aren’t designed to keep people in it’s to keep people out” because people were so desperate they would walk into the factory and start working, then demand wages for their work. This is what Mitt had planned for us.

It would be better if we could repeal the 17th Amendment. The flawed 17th Amendment stripped the States of representation in the Federal Government and shifted the loyalty of Senators away from their states and toward their political parties, eliminating the probability for any sitting senator to be recalled, thus aiding and abetting today’s present, disastrous swamp that envelops Washington and engorges it’s greedy, controlling tentacles that creep out to every corner of one’s life.

And to think, I voted for Romney in 2012. He has been a disgrace to his party.

The good news is that this impeachment will finally be over tomorrow when the Senate votes for no witnesses and then votes to acquit. But this will keep happening unless you get out and vote the worthless Dems out of Congress and gain even more seats in the Senate. Trump will win in 2020, that is a fact.

It would appear to me that a “recall” feature in EVERY state might be a good idea. Consider this, political animals for decades have been promising to represent their constituents. As soon as elected, they listen only to the “money”…this would be a method of correcting some corruption instead of allowing it to continue to fester until the next election (could be bought)!
