This is worse than Obama’s lie: “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan…” and it will cost us much more.
Every “universal” government-run program that Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and other progressives tout as benefitting everyone is an abject falsehood. Just looking at Medicare-for-all as one example, should be all you need to know what America’s future looks like. Beyond the enormous income tax increases, the working class will be subjected to, the most significant thing folks should fear would be the loss of personal choice you will have in making medical decisions.
The government will tell you which doctor you will see which hospital or clinic you can visit, which procedures and surgeries you receive, which prescription drugs you can receive. Does anyone believe abdicating our hard-fought personal freedoms over to bureaucratic governmental control is ever a good idea?
I quick math comparison of Warren’s new plan — 53 trillion divided by 320 million people is over $16,000 paid by every man woman and child in the united states. Will never happen and is not even possible. Warren just lost her nomination. Let’s not forget Medicare for all will include illegals, and since Liz doesn’t believe in securing our border, we will be inundated from our southern border. This is going to be a disaster.
Voting for Elizabeth means taking a vow of poverty, maybe that’ll wake up the woke.
Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren’s long-awaited “Medicare-for-all” funding plan projects the government-run health care system would cost a staggering sum of “just under $52 trillion” over the next decade, with the campaign proposing a host of new tax increases to pay for it while still claiming the middle class would not face any additional burden.
“We don’t need to raise taxes on the middle class by one penny to finance Medicare for All,” Sen. Warren, D-Mass., said in her plan — a copy of which was obtained by Fox News.
What a joke. Taxpayers pay all taxes and that model won’t change. Corporations still pass along tax expenses to the consumer, that is the nature of the business model, and it is done to maintain profitability so that they can remain operational and pay employees. One other thing she ignores, there are not enough doctors in this country to support a Medicare-for-All system.
The Warren campaign claims those individual costs would drop to “practically zero,” while the plan maintains and boosts a funding pipeline from other sources. However, unlike Sanders’ plan, Warren’s projects no burden for the middle class and a price tag of “just under $52 trillion” over the next 10 years, or slightly less than cost projections for the current system. Sanders’ plan has been estimated to cost roughly $32 trillion, though that price tag reflects additional spending while Warren’s seems to factor in current spending as well.
So how would she pay for it?
Among other proposals, Warren calls for bringing in nearly $9 trillion in new Medicare taxes on employers over the next 10 years, arguing this would essentially replace what they’re already paying for employee health insurance. Further, Warren’s campaign says if they are at risk of falling short of the revenue target, they could impose a “Supplemental Employer Medicare Contribution” for big companies with “extremely high executive compensation and stock buyback rates.”
Whether some of those costs, however, still could be passed on to middle-class employees – as economists argue payroll tax costs often are – remains to be seen. As the Tax Policy Center has noted, it is assumed the “employee bears the burden of both the employer and employee portions of payroll taxes.”
Let’s not forget Medicare for all will include illegals, and since Liz doesn’t believe in securing our border, we will be inundated from our southern border. This is going to be a disaster.
Warren also proposes even more taxes on the ultra-rich, expanding on her previously announced signature wealth tax, to tax more of anyone’s net worth over $1 billion (estimated to raise another $1 trillion). Warren also calls for raising capital gains tax rates for the wealthy, taxing more foreign earnings and imposing a tax on financial transactions to generate $800 billion in revenue.
This seems inaccurate because it’s more of an offset and decrease than increase. This would, however, be a huge windfall for businesses who no longer would need to pay for their part of the bill and instead it would be spread across everyone
Aside from those and other taxes, the campaign claims they can scrounge up $2.3 trillion with better tax enforcement and policies, as well as additional funds by reining in defense spending.
“When fully implemented, my approach to Medicare for All would mark one of the greatest federal expansions of middle class wealth in our history,” Warren said in her plan. “And if Medicare for All can be financed without any new taxes on the middle class, and instead by asking giant corporations, the wealthy, and the well-connected to pay their fair share, that’s exactly what we should do.”
Ever since Trump was elected, the democrat party platform has been about increasing taxes I mean “freebies,” increasing federal government power, tearing the Constitution apart, and wanting more illegals to walk in. Warren and the Democrats during the debates have displayed precisely what their agenda is, and it is too late for them to try and step back now.
How about too far left to be an American? America was founded on and prospered under ingenuity, hard work, and capitalism. None of those qualities are displayed under the socialist model.
Warren has lied about her heritage to get a job; you do not think she is going to lie about how she is going to pay for Medicare for all to be President? She is going to wipe out the upper class when they are gone; there will be no capital to invest in innovation. Without innovation, the country is dead. It used to be people worked hard to get ahead, now they expect everyone else to work hard so they can get ahead without the work. The constitution guarantees the right for the pursuit of happiness; it does not ensure satisfaction, that you have to do on your own.
I am tired of these politicians making promises to get votes. Just do the math. $1.5 trillion in total student debt across the country divided by $28,650.00 of average student loan debt per individual = an average of 52,356,020.94 potential votes. Not exactly the number, but we get the right idea!!!
No matter “what her plan is,” she won’t beat Trump. There currently isn’t any candidate running that even stands a chance. That’s why there are trying to impeach him because they know he will get re-elected.
