A 24-year-old Florida woman whose son died turned to social media for help with his funeral costs.
Victoria Jackson said she found her 10-month-old son Malachi unresponsive in his crib. The baby was declared dead about an hour later at a nearby hospital.
Jackson then hopped online and created a GoFundMe to supposedly cover his funeral expenses and raised over $4,000 dollars.
Here’s part of what she wrote:
I want to give my son the best memorial service I can. He died last Friday night I’ve never been so heartbroken in my life. Please help me take care of my baby one last time.
The young mother continually pushed the Gofundme, begging people to donate for her son.
Her words were very touching – I can see why people would have donated.
However, this story has a very disturbing twist.
The young “grieving” mom is now is facing first-degree murder charges in the death of her son.
Police say Victoria Jackson confessed to placing a pillow over the face of her baby and suffocating him.
Horrific. This woman is a sociopathic monster, I hope they throw the book at her. No mercy.
Gofundme took down the page and will be issuing refunds.

A 24-year-old mother intentionally suffocated her 10-month-old baby with a pillow, according to Clearwater police.
The child died in May. But it wasn’t until Friday that police arrested the mother, Victoria Jackson, on a charge of first-degree murder.
The incident took place on May 24 at 410 N. Highland Ave. The mother called 911 and said she had found her son Malachi Jackson “unresponsive” in his crib, according to police.
Paramedics rushed the baby to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was 10 months and 12 days old.
But the cause of Malachi’s death remained undetermined for months, police said, while they investigated the mother’s version of events.
That changed this week when detectives said they learned that Victoria Jackson told a friend she put a pillow over her baby’s face and used it to asphyxiate her son.
Homicide detectives brought the mother in for questioning on Friday. They said she confessed to suffocating her son.
Police did not say what led the mother to smother her son, or how that information reached detectives. [TampaBay.com]
