Grammy Award winner Cardi B joined other rap stars on a recent podcast to talk politics and it seemed she had an epiphany.

Cardi told Chance The Rapper and T.I. that she felt that Pres. Trump would win reelection because of the size of his base and she didn’t see that type of enthusiasm on the left. In the past, Cardi has supported Sen. Bernie Sanders but she said that through her travels, she doesn’t see supporters showing much love to the current 2020 Democrat candidates.

Cardi B: “I really hate to say it, but sometimes I do believe that Trump will be winning. Just because due to the fact that every single time I don’t see nobody saying they love a Democratic candidate. There’s no candidate that people are saying like we love, we want them to win.

“I really want to do it with every candidate but I just didn’t have time. I really wanted some of my fans to ask questions that they would like a candidate to answer. And I’ve really been a fan of Bernie’s for a long time. I always felt like he was really passionate, and I had to ask him, ‘A lot of people think that the things that you’re going to do is not possible, you’re too progressive, it’s not possible.'”

Later on in the podcast, Cardi said that she believed that then-candidate Donald Trump duped a lot of his base into voting to keep minorities and the marginalized people of America down instead of their interests.

Cardi B: “Every single time he always talk about how he wants to take away Medicare and sh– like that. A poor white man that’s getting Medicare is not even caring that he’s saying that — he just cares that he hates Mexicans and he want to get rid of them.”

When do you think the country should re-open and get back to work?

What they can’t get past is how Trump speaks to his base like he cares about their needs and he wants to legitimately put them first. Democrat candidates, aside from the constant hate rhetoric and terror-based campaigning, they always seem to be above the voters, never connecting with them.

The candidate that Cardi describes that she wants to see in a Democratic candidate resembles Barack Obama. The media rode that donkey for eight years but they never built up anything to keep the idea moving forward. They never built a bench of prospectives and thus, Dems have fallen flat and will continue to for a few generations.

I do not put too much stock in these celebrities but I think it’s funny, watching them complain they don’t have have the “golden child” to lead them.
