The parents of murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich are suing Fox News for “emotional distress” after Fox aired a story suggesting Rich was the Wikileaks contact for the leaked DNC emails that were published by Julian Assange during the 2016 Democrat primary.

Fox News must defend a lawsuit by the parents of a Democratic Party staffer whose unsolved 2016 murder touched off a flurry of right-wing conspiracy theories, an appeals court said Friday in reinstating the case.

The parents of Seth Rich sued Fox News over what they said was a “sham” 2017 story claiming their son leaked Democratic National Committee emails in the run-up to the 2016 election. A lower-court judge in Manhattan dismissed the case last year.

The suit over the report accused Fox News of intentionally causing severe emotional distress to the parents of the 27-year-old Rich. As of last year, the Washington DC police hadn’t identified any suspects in what they believe was a botched robbery, but the killing led to accusations in conservative media that Rich — and not Russian-backed hackers — provided emails to WikiLeaks.

What’s curious, is how the fake news media, like CNN, MSNBC, New York Times, and others, can push their unfounded conspiracy theories with impunity and no sources until the cows come home, and they suffer little to no backlash or ramifications for it.

The media publishes and airs phony stories galore that actually destroy people’s lives, like “Hands up Don’t Shoot,” and the “Smirking Covington Boys,” not to mention the countless pieces that were pumped out every day for years on the fake Russia conspiracy.

But, for some reason the media can do anything they want unchallenged – however, the second someone like Sean Hannity does a show questioning the legitimacy of a story surrounded by a slew of odd coincidences and a lot of unanswered questions, the sky begins to fall, and Hannity instantly caves.

Really makes you wonder, doesn’t it?

I can speculate why this happens by suggesting the obvious –  that if Seth Rich was indeed the Wikileaks connection, the entire Russia hoax would suffer another humiliating blow that would take down the fake news media and the Intel Community, once and for all.

So, to stop that from happening, the liberal media circled the wagons around the Seth Rich story, and painted Hannity to be a “kook” who was wildly spinning an unfounded and silly conspiracy theory.
