A local reporter in Rio Rancho, New Mexico was clearly shocked at the long lines of people waiting to get into the Trump rally scheduled for Monday night.

According to the report, people were lining up since early Monday morning. The reporter indicated that there was as many as one thousand people in line by 6:00am.

At one point, they ran out of parking spaces at the venue.

“The Star Center is dictating some of these things, but the Secret Service and other security agencies are dictating some of the other policies, as well, so it’s a big blend of everybody working together to make sure that, once again, we have a good, safe event,” Hull said.

What you can and can’t take inside is posted on Rio Rancho’s website.

But not everyone should expect to get inside, even if you bought a ticket, because it will be first come, first served for ticket holders.

“They’re supposed to have a lot of TV screens on the outside. There will be sound out here for people who don’t get in,” Hull said.

Parking, however, looks to be more of an issue.

“Right now, we’re very confined to about 3,000 spaces,” Hull said.

They are expecting 8,500 people inside the arena and potentially even more outside.

“Carpool, carpool, carpool is what we’re saying,” Hull said.

Others are being advised to either arrive early or consider using ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft.

While protesters will have a designated area in which to demonstrate, Hull said they are taking significant steps to make sure what happened at the 2016 Trump rally in Albuquerque does not happen here. [KOAT]
