A superior court judge in Massachusetts was arrested for assault and battery, after attacking her wife inside their home on Wednesday.

Judge Shannon Frison, who was appointed by former Democrat Governor Deval Patrick in 2012, reportedly grabbed her wife’s hair and yanked her head back during an altercation. The wife was reportedly holding a young child when the assault took place.

Police reported that while the judge was being arrested for assault and battery, she demanded that police get their hands off of her, and yelled, “I’m a superior judge, you can’t arrest me!”

Whoops, I guess she was wrong.

A Superior Court judge who was arrested on an assault and battery charge has been placed on paid administrative leave from her judicial duties.

Judge Shannon Frison, 49, of Hudson forcefully grabbed the victim by the hair during an argument at their home in Hudson on Sunday night, pulling the victim’s head backward while the woman held a minor, according to police documents.

The Associated Press identified the victim as the judge’s wife. Judge Frison frequently sits in Worcester Superior Court.

Police reported that after being handcuffed by an officer, Judge Frison said, “Don’t touch me. Get your hands off of me,” and, “I’m a superior judge, you can’t arrest me.”

Judge Frison was arraigned Monday in Marlboro District Court. A spokesman for the Massachusetts Trial Court said she has been placed on paid administrative leave.

According to Hudson Police Department documents, officers went to Chestnut and Brook streets about 7:30 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports about an upset woman holding a child walking in the road.

A witness, who was walking his dog, told police that he saw a woman speed down the street in a silver BMW, cutting in front of the woman holding the child to block her path. The driver screamed at the woman, sped away, then returned, yelling, “Now you have this white boy with his dog protecting you,” according to the witness.

The victim declined medical attention for herself and the child. [Telegram]
