Ben Carson is amazing.
Here’s a man who grew up poor in Detroit, becomes one of the most celebrated pediatric brain surgeons in the world, and is now running the entire Housing and Urban Development program, and helping poor people across this country.
Carson is the American dream, and his life’s work is touched by the hand of God.

So, when he deiced to take on smug Gavin Newsom over the homeless disaster and epidemic in California, he not only schooled the privileged progressive, he won the day for all struggling Americans across this great land.
Mr. Carson wrote an epic truth bomb letter to Newsom, addressing his request for an increase in federal dollars to address the homeless crisis in his state.
Carson’s response to Newsom’s request will have you cheering in your seat!
“Your letter seeks federal dollars for California from hardworking American taxpayers but fails to admit that your State and local policies have played a major role in the current crisis.”
Amazing! Mr. Carson is holding Newsom and the failed progressive policies of California fully responsible for the current state of the state.
Here are the facts: there are some 130,000 homeless people in California, by far the largest population in any state, according to the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness. The homeless population has jumped a whopping 16% in just one year. The city streets of San Francisco are covered in human feces and hypodermic needles, and Leprosy is poised to make a “comeback” in Los Angeles.
Yet, in all of this disgusting mess, California has some of the highest taxes in the entire country.
Carson goes on to say:
“If California’s homeless population had held in line with overall population trends, America’s homeless rate would have decreased. Instead, the opposite has happened, as California’s unsheltered homelessness population has skyrocketed as a result of the State’s over-regulated housing market, its inefficient allocation of resources, and its policies that have weakened law enforcement.”
Sorry, liberals, like it or not, Mr. Carson and the Trump administration are right.
President Trump’s big idea for fixing California’s homelessness crisis should look familiar to many prominent Democrats: Eliminate layers of regulation to make it easier and cheaper to build more housing.
On the eve of a two-day swing through the state this week, Trump’s Council of Economic Advisers released a report blaming “decades of misguided and faulty policies” for putting too many restrictions on development and causing home prices to rise to unaffordable levels. It’s a continuation of a strategy that the president began in June, when he signed an executive order to establish a White House council to “confront the regulatory barriers to affordable housing development.”
“Harmful local government policies in select cities, along with ineffective federal government policies of prior administrations, have exaggerated the homelessness problem,” Tom Philipson, acting chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, told reporters Monday. [LA Times]
How embarrassing for California and failed liberal policies, that they now need the Trump administration to swoop in and save the day. They’ve made such an unfettered mess of things, by focusing on issues like providing free healthcare and education for illegal aliens, and saving the world from “weather.”
I feel sorry for the good people of California who’ve been held hostage by decades of failed liberal policies that have turned their state into a third-world sh*thole.
