Rep. Elijah Cummings feels that he is the man for the moment, after the shootings in El Paso and Dayton.

“God has called me to this moment. I did not ask for it…this invitation and this date was set a long time ago, two months ago as a matter of a fact, it just so happens that destiny has brought us to this moment.

We must also stop the hateful, incendiary comments. We gotta do it. Those in the highest levels of the government must stop invoking fear, using racist language and encouraging reprehensible behavior. It only creates more division among us and severely limits our ability to work together for the common good.”

I don’t know if Cummings is on pain medication or maybe he took a hit on a couple of lines on the table but he’s really off the map with this one.
