This video was created by Payette Forward employees David and David who are Apple experts.
I found them on Friday morning and I followed their instructions to turn off certain things on my phone which had more to do with Apple tracking my phone than anything else. It’s time to take back some control over what you own, don’t you agree?
I have an iPhone 7-plus and these instructions work for me so I am probably safe to say they work for anything newer than an iPhone 7-Plus. It could work for a few earlier versions but I haven’t tested it on those.
Here are the seven settings:
0:12 iPhone Analytics: Turning this off will improve your iPhone’s battery life and give you more privacy.
0:44 iCloud Analytics: Like iPhone analytics, turning this off will improve your iPhone’s battery life and give you more privacy.
0:52 Significant Locations: This setting tracks the places you visit most often and saves them onto your iPhone. Turning it off will improve your battery life and help you maintain your privacy.
2:02 Almost Everything in System Services: These unnecessary System Services are constantly running in the background of your iPhone and draining its battery.
3:26 Limit Ad Tracking: This will prevent advertisers from collecting more detailed information about you.
4:17 Fetch New Data: Changing your Settings from Push to Fetch will help you save battery life.
5:30 Background App Refresh for certain apps: This will prevent apps from constantly running in the background of your iPhone and draining its battery life.
