House Representatives Alexia Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) spoke about their relationship with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and it is still not cozy, but people need to understand if you are going to talk, make sure you know what you are going to say before spouting off or you come off looking dumb.
Last week, they called Pelosi out for allegedly singling out their group, calling themselves “women of color.” Many claimed that was racist and for a few hours, Pelosi was verbally attacked by followers of these women.
Gayle King, of “CBS This Morning” interviewed the #RadicalFour, which was their first appearance together since being labeled “the squad.” King asked AOC if she would meet with Pelosi and have a conversation on how better to deal with their group. AOC seemed hesitant and unsure, and that’s when Tlaib jumped in like a surrogate mother:
“She has every right to sit down with her in any moment, in any time, with any of us. She is speaker of the House. She can ask for a meeting to sit down with us for clarification. Acknowledge the fact that we are women of color, so when you do single us out, be aware of that and what you’re doing, especially because some of us are getting death threats, because some of us are being singled out in many ways because of our backgrounds, because of our experiences and so forth.”
Those “women of color” think more melanin makes them special. It does not. They think the color of their skin is more important than the content of character. It is not.
Their obsession with the color of their skin is RACISM in its purest form. My God, I cannot believe some people can’t see that! I don’t care what their skin color is. NO ONE does! It is the seething hatred in their hearts for this nation and for well, us. I do not support people who hate me. It makes sense to me to be that way.
When you are singled-out, it is not because you are a person of color; it is because of your radical views. Whoever coined the phrase, people of color is an idiot. We are all people of color. Stop hiding behind the race card. Imagine the uproar if white people spoke of white churches, white business magazines, white dance troupes, white traditions, white culture, and wanting to be recognized as whites?
When you alienate an entire population, disparage a whole country, and ignorantly accuse everybody of being racist, you’re going to make a lot of enemies.
You made your bed. Either lie in it or get up and straighten it out but it is on you, not others.
