Great Britain screwed up by giving China, Hong Kong. Britain should have given Hong Kong total independence because China cannot be trusted, look at history. Over the weekend, hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets in Hong Kong protesting a legislative proposal that would allow criminal suspects to be extradited to mainland China. The protests have returned violent results as you will witness in the video below.
To catch you up on current events, in 1997, Hong Kong was supposed to have its own social, legal and political system based on the agreement reached with Great Britain some 50 years ago. Since then, China put its foot down on the necks of Hong Kong and will not allow it to happen.
The iron fist of Beijing smashes all liberties, independent courts, and the rule of law. Freedom is being choked out of the people of Hong Kong. The Emperor of China roll over any of those who are critical with tanks.
Agnes Chow is among a group of young activists leading the opposition against proposed amendments to the territory’s extradition law. The changes would allow people in Hong Kong to be sent to mainland China to face criminal charges.
Chow told reporters in Tokyo on Monday that those sent to mainland China wouldn’t have the same rights that are guaranteed in Hong Kong and the legislation endangers the territory’s rule of law, basic rights and democracy.

Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets Sunday in what was likely Hong Kong’s largest protest in more than a decade.
Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam said Monday the legislation will help the territory uphold justice and fulfill its international obligations. She said that safeguards added in May will ensure that the legislation protects human rights. [Associated Press]
The first mistake was ever trusting that communist China would respect any democratic island in its midst. They will do whatever they can to serve themselves. They don’t care about individual freedoms, only the expansion of their power.
So why haven’t the British intervened with allegations that the Chinese are breaching the agreement that returned Hong Kong to China? Given recent incidents where the Chinese have kidnapped Hong Kong residents who upset President Xi, how likely is it that the Chinese will attempt to extradite Hong Kong citizens who protest controls over assertions of free speech, etc.?
This doesn’t look good!
