Today is a day that is bittersweet for me as I lost my father to cancer in 1997.

One thing I know for sure, he loved his God, his children and his country. He served in the Army and most importantly, he served God. He was not perfect by any means but he worked hard so that we could have. We did have our hard times, especially after he divorced my mom, I felt betrayed but God worked it out and end the end, we were together, on one accord.

He taught me many things during the time he was on this earth and if he were here today, I would be saying thank you each and every day. He would be sick at what is going on today, but I know I will see him again on the streets of heaven where there will be no more sorrows or sufferings.

As for me, being a dad is the most fulfilling, lasting joy a man can experience. Once they wrap those innocent, loving, needy arms around you, you are hooked. Nothing else comes close. The very first time I held my daughters and even today when I hug my girls, I realize God’s gift and how much they are my life.

I would like to wish all the fathers a Happy Father’s Day!

When do you think the country should re-open and get back to work?
