CNN’s April Ryan decided to spend her time drumming up a question that could spark controversy within the black community past Tuesday night’s Orlando Rally for Pres. Trump.
Ryan asked whether or not Trump would apologize to the members of the Central Park Five, which has been exonerated from earlier charges. According to the report, they were falsely accused of the brutal rape of a white woman while she was jogging in Central Park late at night. Their faces were plastered over the television and news clippings called them guilty.
Pres. Trump claimed at that time that while the entire city felt as if they did this crime, he also felt the same. Later, through DNA evidence, another suspect was identified and the court also determined that the testimonies were coerced.
April Ryan: “Mr. President, will you apologize to the Central Park Five. They’ve been exonerated, there have been videos shown about the case, when you came out with a full page ad saying that they should die, that they deserved the death penalty.”
Donald Trump: “Why do you bring that question up now? It’s an interesting time to bring it up. You have people on both sides of that. They admitted their guilt. If you look at Linda Fairstein, and you look at some of the prosecutors, they think that the city should never have settled that case. So we’ll leave it at that.”
Here’s a question for the media. Did Al Sharpton apologize for the rape hoax that he forced on the American people with Twanda Brawley?
At least Trump cared. If the young men were convicted, most everyone figured they did it. We weren’t there or in the courtroom. We have to go by what we hear in the news and I guess Trump did as well. He was, by wanting tougher laws on this type of crime, being sympathetic towards this woman. Don’t be pissed at him, be pissed at the prosecution in the case!
