President Trump met with Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer on Wednesday at the White House but before they got there, he delivered the gauntlet, which they won’t be pleased with.

Just a few weeks ago, Schumer ran out the White House claiming they were going to work on a $2 trillion infrastructure package and Trump was onboard. Now Trump has added his portion to the equation, pass the USMCA trade deal, which replaces NAFTA.

The Democrats need something to give the illusion that wants to work together, something they can take into 2020 besides partisanship and obstruction. Were I President, no deal until border measures are fulfilled and mindless investigations are ended.

“Before we get to infrastructure, it is my strong view that Congress should first pass the important and popular USMCA trade deal. It will replace the job killing Nafta, one of the worst trade deals ever entered into by our nation. Once Congress has passed USMCA we should turn our attention to a bipartisan infrastructure package,” Trump wrote in a letter to Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer on Tuesday.

“It would be helpful, if you came to tomorrow’s meeting with your infrastructure priorities and specifics regarding how much funding you would dedicate to each. Your caucus has expressed a wide range of priorities, and it is unclear which ones have your support. I had hoped that we could have worked out these priorities following our last meeting, but you canceled a scheduled meeting of our teams, preventing them from advancing our discussions,” Trump added.

Translation: you Democrats want a blank check that will go to Democrat reelection slush funds instead of actual infrastructure repair. If you do not have specific plans for the money and allocate it according to your plan in writing, you get nothing.

Any new spending projects should require a 50% seed money subsidy from the office personnel budgets of each congressperson. Yes, if you believe in the project, then put up your own money first and bank it, and then ask for some additional funding for the project.

Spendaholics and happiest when spending money, Democrats are ecstatic when spending taxpayer money. Unless the infrastructure deal includes funding for major projects in RED states, it should not be signed.

Every major construction project thus far, which was funded through an infrastructure bill has occurred in a blue state.

All of America knows this is a dead deal. The Democrats one and only objective is to find something, anything to make the President look bad. If there is any chance at all of agreeing that Donald Trump is going to do something that is good for America the Democrats will vote it down and issue yet another subpoena instead of trying to Make America Great Again.
