Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp received a threat from 40 actors who plan on boycotting the state and requesting that film crews leave productions if a pending “heartbeat” abortion bill becomes law.
Alyssa Milano leads a list of Hollywood actors in this revolt as they feel if they bully the state into doing what they want, they can show the nation just how much power and influence Hollywood has but I don’t think Georgia is going to fall for it.
Politics is not Hollywood, even though we think so. A state doesn’t run on the morals of Tinseltown, not that they have any in the first place. Kemp is pressing on with the business of his state, and if the residents do not agree, they can vote him out when the time comes, but for now, he was elected to make a change and change he will make.
To @BrianKempGA & Speaker Ralston:
Attached, is an open letter signed by 50 actors against #HB481. On behalf of the undersigned–as people often called to work in GA or those of us contractually bound to work in GA–we hope you'll reconsider signing this bill. #HBIsBadForBusiness pic.twitter.com/DsOmAWYU2x

Rosie O’Donnell, Gabrielle Union Patton Oswalt, Amy Schumer, Ben Stiller, Sarah Silverman, Amy Schumer, Don Cheadle, Mia Farrow, Essence Atkins, Uzo Aduba, and Christina Applegate are among those who have signed the letter.
The letter, spearheaded by Alyssa Milano, comes a week after the actress tweeted on Friday urging film companies to leave Georgia after the state Senate passed a bill, also known as H.B. 481, that would ban abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected.
“But we cannot in good conscience continue to recommend our industry remain in Georgia if H.B. 481 becomes law,” they continue.
After passing the Georgia state Senate last week, H.B. 481, which is backed by Kemp, is headed back to the House for consideration.
If passed, the measure would be one of the country’s most strict abortion laws. [excerpt via The Hill]
It sure is nice of those Hollywood folks to compile a list of actors for me to boycott. It makes things so much easier. Georgia will be better off if this mob of morons stays away. Any state that would even consider Stacey Abrams for its governor needs help.
WGAE and @WGAWest oppose Georgia's abortion ban legislation #HB481. This draconian anti-choice law would discourage people in our industry from working in Georgia and could harm the state's vibrant film and television industry. Full statement attached. pic.twitter.com/bAfJkhXSTv

Maybe the Georgia residents can stop supporting Hollywood by not going to their movies. In fact, a boycott of Hollywood is a great idea. They need to stay out of politics and focus on their JOBS instead of trying to browbeat us into accepting THEIR lousy, ungodly morals.
There are over 20 productions shooting in GA & the state just voted to strip women of their bodily autonomy.
Hollywood! We should stop feeding GA economy. #HB481IsBadForBusiness

“Actress and activist.” I guess when the acting part isn’t getting much attention, she turns to activism. I’m surprised she didn’t take the opportunity to mention President Trump or Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
So the new definition is suppressing democracy whenever anyone other than a democrat gets democratically elected? Got it.
Alyssa, You’re a court jester, nothing more, sing and dance for me, but don’t try to say anything intelligent. It always backfires on you.
I’m always amazed that Hollywood people think they are the brightest in the room and they are of great value. I guess she can always do soap commercials. That’s what most of them seem to do when their candle is about out.
