I watched on Friday morning as conservative websites, Breitbart, Fox News, and social media accounts have been sharing Dave Chapelle statement about Kanye West. Chapelle, in a recorded interview from last week, stated how much he loved his brother Kanye but that he shouldn’t say some of the stuff that he does.

This smacks conservatives in the face for how they are picking and choosing things regarding the musician. It’s one thing to promote a story, but when you give a half-truth, then you are wrong.

These networks have been claiming that Chappelle agrees and supports Kanye who supports President Trump.

Chappelle stressed that he personally supported West and trusted his intentions, but that the rapper shouldn’t be promoting that kind of rhetoric.

I’m not mad at Kanye. That’s my brother — I love him, I support him,” Chappelle said. “But, you know, I don’t have to agree with everything that he says … I just trust him as a person of intent. But yeah, he shouldn’t say all that s***.”

Chappelle also predicted that the real implications of the Trump presidency will be felt after the fact, comparing it to saying things during an argument with a spouse that can’t be taken back.

“The thing that’s scary about this presidency is after it,” Chapelle said. “I don’t know if you’ve been married before or had a girlfriend and said something in a fight that was so wrong.”

And then after that … we’re still family, we’re still around each other,” Chappelle added. “But man, I sure did say all that s***, didn’t I?”

When do you think the country should re-open and get back to work?

The reason why I am trying to correct the record is that Chapelle would come back in a public forum and embarrass the conservative movement by claiming he never said such things or that his statement was taken out of context.

I like to deal with real talk, but I can’t stand when our movement wants to pick and choose.

It had happened before when Chapelle was on Saturday Night Live, and he claimed he wanted to give Pres. Trump a chance, but then he turned around and made fun of Pres. Trump during his Netflix comedy series.

The reason how I know about this is I decided to watch Chapelle’s comedy show because I thought he was giving Tromp a chance, but after I heard the attacks, then I turned it off.

Be careful who you side with in trying to make conservativism fresh. You start picking and choosing and giving cover to people and things you would never do, only to throw someone’s name up against progressives as a flag “we got one of yours.”
