President Obama makes good on his year of action pledge, and proves he is unafraid to wield the pen.
In an effort to further distract American’s from the big government can solve all your problems Obamacare debacle, the president sends in the props and signs an executive order increasing the minimum wage for federal contract workers to $10.10 an hour.
Surrounded by workers who will benefit from the wage hike, the president hopes to put to rest his critics who say he has accomplished little of past campaign and State of the Union promises by making good on his minimum wage increase pledge. Afterall, he did promise a year of action. I just wonder how many people on the podium realize the year of action doesn’t begin until 2015?
While I do not plan to stand behind the president as he makes a policy speech, I will give Obama props. He knows how to campaign, $10.10 is brilliant. I can hear the chears now, $10.10, Obama used his pen. $10.10, he’ll do it again.
Keep it simple and repeat.
Before you know it, everyone will agree, more jobs will be created, the economy will improve, and all the world’s problems will be solved, if only the minimum waged were increased for ALL workers to $10.10 per hour.
Afterall, you can trust President Obama he specializes in making promises he can keep.
